This is one of the most severe issues that can arise when growing pants. Once a plants roots begin to turn brown, action needs to be taken quickly to ensure that the plant can rebound, if at all.

There seems to be a correlation between my trimmings and the root rot flaring up, so maybe my pruning skills aren’t good enough. Alternatively maybe this is natural. I haven’t put much time into researching the things that can go wrong since I enjoy finding out myself.

I currently have two plants with somewhat brownish looking roots and I’m trying to bring them back to being white and healthy. Despite the roots being darker the plants seems to be growing rapidly, and sustaining itself well. I assumed it would become sickly and wilt.
