Version 1
This is P.A.N.S., my idea to create a more accurate 3d model of things I scan with photogrammetry. The designs on the side will act as way-points or markers that the 3D Scanning software will intake, and the user will use to stitch the images together with greater detail.
It doesnt require any software integration, it simply works by including shapes with high contrast, consistent and unique features into the scan. Once the user is done scanning the objects, they can improve their scans by making sure the stand showcases all the proper features on every side. If not, they can add additional images to their photogrammetry scan, or utilize post processing to solve the issue.
Once satisfied with the scan, cut the base off in software.
It is in its early stages of production but I have already created improved models with it, all without having designed or printed V2 yet. Examples can be seen on this page: 3D Scan: Wooden Sumo Carving
Version 1.1

This is an updated version of this project, and expands on my previous idea by adding an additional group of easily ‘seen’ shapes for increased accuracy and end-user error checking capabilities.
I believe this is the appropriate amount of ‘points’ I need to provide to create a model. From here I plan on refining the capabilities of the system more, finding ways to make the parts I have to manually paint better, etc.
