This is my take on PANS for larger objects. Currently I want to use it to aid in the scanning of cabinetry or household objects, though if it were to be scaled up it could be used for entire buildings.

…Though getting someone up there and around the building for hundreds and hundred of photos sounds tough 🙂

They are small 3 faced squares that you can hang on the corners of whatever you are trying to scan, or even the surrounding area*. This idea needs a lot of work to become as fleshed out as the small object variation, but this is at least a completed first version.
