These are some covers I am printing for my Edn SmallGarden. The algae grows as a result of the moisture of the ‘soil’, the availability of nutrients and sunlight. The hope is to reduce the amount of algae that can form on the top of the plants growing medium by covering the rest of the exposed ‘soil’.

As an update, this design works great. There is a clear reduction in algae growth on the surface of the SeedPod, while also providing a collar for young / weak stems that need help supporting themselves.
Unfortunately, it cant stop all algae growth. If the plant doesn’t germinate and create its own shade over the hole, the design is only half effective.
